Digicel, the preferred mobile telecommunications service provider, is again giving its support to one of the major events on the Crop-Over calendar, Soca on de Hill.
Commercial Director Alex Tasker, noted that the company was pleased to be sponsoring the event again this year as it is in keeping with their continued commitment to support the festival.
“Soca on the Hill is one of the main parties during the Crop-Over season and this is our third year backing the event. We see it as one of the activities during the festival, which showcases the top local acts for the festival as well as the region and we are always happy to partner with organisers who bring top class acts for Barbadians to enjoy.”
The star-studded cast slated for the Sunday, July 22 show at the Farley Hill National Park includes RPB, Kes the Band, Krosfyah, Lil’ Rick and family, Dutty Android, Crimeson, Swappi, Skinny Fabulous, Peter Ram and Soca Kartel.
Andrew Weekes, representative for Soca on de Hill, thanked Digicel for its support and urged more companies to follow their lead. “Obtaining sponsorship for a major entertainment event can be very challenging and so when we get a company like Digicel willing to be involved year after year, it goes a long way for entertainment in Barbados and the development of Crop-over.
“Our partnership with Digicel over the years helps to ensure that we offer our patrons the highest caliber of Caribbean entertainment with the top names in the industry and this year will be no different as our cast includes the best of the best in the industry.”
