Hundreds of Barbadian gospel artistes are benefiting from professional vocal training these days.
In fact, most people may not know it, but since 2001, the Barbadian woman known for possessing one of the greatest voices anywhere in the world, has been formally turning out top notch singers, not only from the gospel arena, but also the secular.
Allison Norville-Forde, the current musical director at the People’s Cathedral and a graduate of the late acclaimed vocal tutor, classical singer and head of the Cecilian Singers, Doris Provencal, has even trained gospel singers from the Caribbean region.
Also coming under the tutelage of this in-demand lyric soprano’s expertise, are choirs, worship leaders and Christian soca artistes who take part in the annual Crop-Over Festival.
