The financial commitments of a few Barbadian parents as it relates to meeting the cost of financing their children’s development and education have received a great boost thanks to Digicel.
Shontelle Marshall is now better able to purchase additional school supplies and technology for her two daughters thanks to the $15,000 Grand Prize she received as a result of winning Digicel’s recent Back to School Promotion.
Concluded at the end of last month, the promotion gave Digicel customers who topped up their pre-paid account with $20 or more, paid their post-paid bill on time and in full, or activated a data plan during the period of the promotion, a chance to win various prizes.
The second prize of $5,000 went to Melissa Singh, while the third prize of one Laptop and a full year of free internet service went to Renee Smith.
Marshall, who described the prize as a true blessing due to her receiving it one day before her birthday, said it would go a long way towards assisting with the costs of providing her daughters with the latest learning tools.
Still beaming with joy and quite speechless, Melissa Singh said when she got the call she was totally shocked: “It was nothing I had expected but the money will definitely come in handy with helping to finance the cost of my son’s early childhood development.”
Third prize winner, Renee Smith, indicated that the laptop could not have come at a better time for her: “Less than a month ago my laptop crashed so when I got the call from Digicel I immediately breathed a sigh of relief because it meant I wouldn’t have to expense myself to replace it. Then to be told that I would also be given a full year’s service of internet free was unbelievable. I could not be more grateful to the Bigger, Better Network.”
Throughout the remainder of the year, loyal customers can look forward to more exciting promotions from Digicel.
