Leader of the Opposition, Owen Arthur, will deliver the feature address at the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association’s Fourth Quarterly Christmas Luncheon Meeting on December 12.
Arthur will speak on the topic “Securing Barbados’ Tourism — An Imperative for National Development”, at the Hilton Barbados Resort in the Needham’s Ballroom at 10 a.m.
President of the association, Patricia Affonso-Dass, will also deliver the BHTA’s Interim Quarterly Report, while executive vice-president, Sue Springer, will deliver the Administrative Review for the last quarter.
The TeleBarbados sponsored meeting will also see a presentation from Andrew Fazio, Director of Business Solutions with Columbus Business Solutions, on the topic “Columbus Networks Company Overview and Introduction to their Hospitality Products”.
Spotlight presentations will also be made by Andre Burgess and Ronnie Griffith of the Tourism Working Group on “An Analysis of Behavioural Patterns of Inbound Tourist to Barbados, 2004 – 2011: Hotels vs. Non-traditional Accommodations” as well as by May Hinds of May Hinds Consulting Inc., on “Past Performance and Future Prospects: Market Research and Financial Discipline, Savvy and Monitoring”.
The winners of the just concluded BHTA’s School’s Photography Competition will also be presented with their prizes at the meeting and Chief Judge, Ricardo Redman will give an overview of the competition.
There will also be a special Tombola Draw with prizes including trips overseas.
