Delegates from 14 regional territories are meeting in Barbados today and tomorrow for a major conference hosted by United Insurance, a leading pan-Caribbean insurance company.
The event, which brings together agents and partners of United Insurance, is being held at the Accra Beach Hotel, under the theme “New Horizons, Growing Together”.
Chief Operating Officer of the Barbados-headquartered United Insurance, David Alleyne, disclosed that it is the first time in 10 years that the company had brought together agents and partners in one place with discussions about operating in a volatile market-place high on the agenda.
“The environment is still difficult and with our important partners, together we will create strategies for growing the business and achieving our objectives of continuing to provide for our clients, the highest level of underwriting and claims service in the Caribbean,” said Alleyne.
United’s Regional Manager, Cecile Cox, the conference coordinator, said delegates from Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, Grenada, Turks and Caicos, Aruba, Curacao, Belize, Guyana, Antigua, Dominica, Montserrat, St. Vincent & The Grenadines and host country Barbados were attending the conference.
Among other areas, Cox said agents and partners would also benefit from presentations on building the United brand, the company’s strategic plan and vision and also get updates on regulatory requirements and compliance.
United Insurance is part of the Neal and Massy Group and according to the 2012 Financial report of Neal and Massy Holdings, United Insurance contributed significantly to the operating profit to the Group’s bottom line last year.
