They’re coming to invade the City streets with more colour, more fun, more vibes, “more of everything”.
The band leaders of the Foreday Mornin’ band Mas Invasion, are promising to bring their 750 revellers “a fresh J’ouvert experience” when glow meets the road in the wee hours of August 3rd.
Kenifer Marius told Barbados TODAY that the band, which was created by Sky Productions will be a neon street party like no other, has three sections — Tempo, Rhythm, Release — and so far one section the red and black colour comprising 100 costumes is sold out.
“‚We wanted to do something different and one day we sat down and said we’ve not seen anyone hit glow as much. We didn’t want to just say ‘this is the enchanted forest’ so we played with music… . We said that everyone likes music and they like to dance, and they like the rhythm and the beats so we based the band on music.
“[The section] Release is based on how it is going to be, we’re releasing the vibes, we’re releasing the movement in your body and the way the short jeans are you are really releasing everything,” she said.
Registration for the band, which was launched on Friday night, started yesterday.
Marius added that revellers will have a glow truck, a full laser lighting show, neon paint and at the end of the jump there will be an Oasis Breakfast beach party.
“I think the difference with us is how we are and the concept which is glow meets road,” she added.
The band house will be opening in July.
Next weekend, there will be a Glow Party at Bushy Park to kick start their activities. (DS)
