It will be “plenty sexy soca” in the wee hours of August 3 for 500 revellers.
That is the intention of Allure Entertainment, which will be bringing its Mojito magic to the streets of the City again this year during Foreday Mornin Jam.
Allure Entertainment’s Jennifer Dear told Barbados TODAY that they have gone back to basics with “simple but sexy” costumes.
“There are four sections, each sponsored by one of our title sponsors. We’re doing a series of free limes, instead of paid events, at different bars that we’ve worked with before and our sponsors will be involved. Patrons attending will get a chance to win costumes, free drinks form our sponsors as well as tickets to certain events,” she said.
The sections in the band named Dirty Sexy Soca are Behind Closed Doors, Welcome to Temptation, Submission and Domination.
Dear noted it was not difficult for her to get sponsorship this year as most of her sponsors were working with her again and she had established a relationship with them as she did events throughout the year. She also said she submitted her proposals in December last year.
The band leader explained that the Bacardi sponsored section was almost sold out as most of their members were tourists who they came from Canada, New York and London to play mas’. Some of them committed to playing mas’ even before the costumes came out and when they did they chose what they wanted.
The band house will be opening next week at The Verandah, at Cave Hill, St. Michael.
The band was launched on Saturday at Biggs Bar & Grill, Carlton, Black Rock. (DS)
