In keeping with its new slogan, Value Every Moment, Lime has taken another step toward increasing the number of services it provides by offering e-learning to the region’s students.
And on this occasion it has joined with Caribbean Exams.com to offer this service to 60,000 subscribers to date with Barbados being the first country in the region benefiting from the programme.
Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Lime, Rachel Pilgrim, made these announcements today during a Press conference at the Windsor Lodge headquarters on Government Hill, St. Michael.
Pilgrim noted that “in this day and age of busy working parents it was a relief to know your child could be at home getting assistance with their homework and research even if you cannot be there all the time to assist”.
She gave Barbadians the assurance that the Ministry of Education had endorsed the CaribbeanExams.com programme, which provides quality examination preparation and online help to Caribbean students from the primary to secondary levels.
Pilgrim disclosed that CaribbeanExams.com’s education packages included a range of practice tests, study guides, worksheets, and handouts; weekly reports emailed to parents for monitoring progress; interactive tests; real time grade books, multi-media notes and fun and games.
She further pointed out that the services provided by CaribbeanExams.com were on a subscription basis and the package to which a person subscribes would determine the level of access and assistance provided.
Pilgrim told members of the Press that there were three levels of access to CaribbeanExams.com available from Lime. There is the “bronze” for customers with packages of below 6 Mbps; “silver” for customers with 6 Mbps to 20 Mbps and “gold” for customers with a higher than 20 Mbps package.
The marketing head however stressed that through Lime’s partnership with CaribbeanExams.com, the company now offers all of its residential broadband customers free access to CaribbeanExams.com based on the Internet package they have with the company.
Pilgrim pointed out that this partnership translated into a huge cost saving to Lime customers.
Meanwhile, Vice President of Operations and Marketing with CaribbeanExams.com, Shalette East, said the programme began in 2005 and they had become the leading test preparation system in the Caribbean. East noted that they do test preparation exclusively online, where students are able to interact with live tutors, to get assistance with their homework and to ask questions. (NC)
