Cancer Support Services, the charitable organisation which assists cancer patients and their families has made another generous donation to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Members of the organisation gifted Ward C 12 with eight dozen flat sheets, eight dozen fitted sheets and eight dozen pillow cases on Thursday.
Sister Parres Bynoe who received the bedding on behalf of the hospital said the linen is important in maintaining the QEH’s high level of patient care.
“We are very grateful and thankful to the Cancer Support Services for offering us this donation,” she said.
“These sheets will go a very long way in helping us to continue the care that we do give the patients and be as supportive as we possibly can in maintaining that integrity with their skin.”
Public Relations Officer with CCS Deborah Gittens said members of the Welfare Committee are expected to be making more frequent visits to the ward.
“We recognise that’s also an important aspect of patient care. There’re persons who can come in, listen to them, give them inspirational talks, inspirational words and to also offer to the nurses those words of inspiration because we also have to take care of our care givers,” she stressed.
The presentation was also witnessed by Senior Sister June Robinson.
