Earlier this year, Miller Publishing’s My Destination Barbados and the other My Destination sites around the world ran a Biggest Baddest Bucket List competition. Entrants were required to create a short, engaging video about their destinations of choice.
The two lucky winners, Alex and Marko Ayling (also known as The Vagabrothers), have won an all expenses paid trip around the world to their choice of destinations, taking in local experiences and challenges to complete their ultimate bucket list.
“We’re delighted to announce that the brothers have chosen Barbados as the third stop on their six-month, six-continent tour,” statement from Miller Publishing said.
“They will chronicle their amazing journey on video, blogs, and articles, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, including a dedicated www.YouTube.com/WatchBBBTV channel. MyDestination.com, Hotels.com, Travelex, Viator and YouTube promote this campaign globally and to date it has attracted over three million views from more than 220 different countries. This is a very valuable publicity opportunity for Barbados as the journey is expected to attract millions of online followers.”
The team at My Destination Barbados is responsible for making The Vagabrothers’ six-days here absolutely amazing so that the many online followers (all potential travellers) add our island to their list of must visit destinations.
Alex and Marko arrived in Barbados for their first visit to the Caribbean on Saturday, July 27 and have already had their first Banks beer, tried pudding and souse, surfed at the Soup Bowl, sailed the West Coast on a special Crop-Over party cruise and taken in some of the local nightlife.
They’ve also been on a walking tour of Bridgetown with Dr. Karl Watson, tried out Waterman Sports with Brian “deActionMan” Talma, taken a microlight flight up to the Scotland District and have been introduced to the lovely game of cricket at the Caribbean Premier League launch.
“You just might catch a glimpse of them as they work through the rest of their itinerary, a guided tour of George Washington House and the newly discovered Garrison tunnels, dining at some of our best restaurants, and charting their own path across Barbados in a hired car, before they leave on August 3.
“They will also be at the Foreday Mornin’ Jam. Feel free to go up to them and say hi if you spot them — they’ll be the young, handsome guys with broad smiles and video equipment,” the statement added.
