Science made fun

About 20 secondary school students from across the Caribbean are in Barbados studying and exploring careers in science and engineering.
The US Embassy in Barbados has provided a grant of more than $24,000 to make it possible for two students from Dominica to take part, free of cost, in this annual Student Programme for Innovation in Science and Engineering at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies.
Just yesterday, United States ambassador, Larry Palmer, visited the classes to interact with the participants and witness their demonstrations of electronics and robotics they had been working on during the intensive four-week residential summer programme, which concludes on Saturday.
The other 18 students have been able to attend the sessions, thanks to the $12,000 which it costs each of the various other sponsors for every individual studying.
