Kelly Conliffe wins BWU netball queen pageant

Miss BWU Netball being crowned by last year’s winner Shekira Boxill.

Kelly Conliffe is the new queen of local netball.
The A & A Connections baller shot above the other contestants in this year’s Barbados Workers’ Union Netball Pageant last Saturday at the BWU headquarters at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall in St. Michael, to earn the title.
The new queen also won Best Sportswear, but she had to work hard for the win because Trinelle Corbin of Police Unity was right on her heels for the title. Corbin won Best Talent and ultimately came second. Third place went to Newbury Ballers’
Alisha Harris, who was also proclaimed Miss Congeniality, while Katrina Patrick of BRC Netball Club who won Best Gown and Miss Photogenic, was third runner up. The other contestant was Shannaya Wiggins of Police Boys’ and Girls’.
Organiser of the event, Mary Vaughan told Barbados TODAY that the show, now in its second year ran smoothly. She said that the turnout was good and thanked all of the sponsors for their support. (KC)
