Barbados’ entourage for the 41st Central American and Caribbean Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships has arrived in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic.
Speaking to Barbados TODAY from the Dominican Republic this afternoon, president of the Barbados Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Dr. Andrew Forde said the 27 member team were in excellent spirits despite a few viral illnesses and niggles among some of the party. The team flew out of Barbados this morning for the championships that run from September 20 to 23.
“We will have some posing sessions this evening as part of our preparations but generally everyone is in very good spirt,” Forde said.
Most of those who shone in last month’s Barbados Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation’s Allmax Nutrition National Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships make up the contingent at the championships.
The athletes will have their official weigh-in and measurements tomorrow evening before attending the official welcoming cocktail party. On Saturday there will be the Caribbean association’s general assembly as well as a meeting of delegates and coaches.
The Barbadian participants will then join other competitors for the pre-judging the same day which will be the prelude to the highly anticipated morning finals on Sunday.
The athletes return home on Monday.
