Barbadian staff members at the luxury watch company Tag Heuer Boutique in Limegrove Lifestyle Centre has been named number one in the Caribbean when it comes to customer service.
The West Coast high-end timepiece location currently employs four people. It was officially opened just over two years ago.
Tag Heuer has over 25 outlets across the region. And each year the company carries out about three assessments to gauge the level of customer service that was being offered at each operation.
Speaking during a brand awareness cocktail reception at the posh location yesterday evening, Roberto Fuentes, Tag Heuer’s sales manager for the Caribbean, said Barbados continued to be a leader for the brand in the region, adding that it had been “an exciting” two years for the company here.
“Tag Heuer does several testers in the year on customer service across the region and across the world, and it turns out that the Barbados boutique has the best staff with regards to customer service and style in the Caribbean reaching the highest marks for Tag Heuer,” Fuentes announced.
Meanwhile, chief executive officer of Duty Free Caribbean (Holdings) limited, Peter Allan, lauded the staff at the Limegrove location while thanking guests for their support over the years.
“Barbados for sure is the main territory. This boutique when we opened in Limegrove was one of only three in the Caribbean at the time. It is a great location. The location has been doing fantastically well with your support over the last few years [since] it opened,” said Allan.
Giving a brief history on the brand and an idea of what was in store, Fuentes said Tag Heuer was focused on expanding its manufacturing capabilities this year and would be launching a new movement.
A movement refers to the internal mechanism of the watch.
“The theme this year is the art of manufacturing. For a long time it [the watch industry] was a very dispersed group of people creating different parts for watches that the different brands would put together and create their watches with,” he said.
“But having a company integrated enough to actually manufacture their entire watch is something very rare even today. And Tag Heuer is among the elite companies in the Swiss watch industry who has got to that point where we have the capacity and the manufacturing capabilities to create all of our own watches, including all of our own movements. This year we proved it with the opening of the new manufacturing plant in Chevenez, Switzerland, whose goal is to manufacture all of the Tag Heuer in-house movements. So that opens this year,” added Fuentes.
