Police are on the hunt for a man who attacked two female tourists with a sword on Black Rock Main Road, St Michael this morning.
The women – one Spanish and the other Polish – sustained injuries but lawmen have not disclosed the nature of those injuries or the victims’ conditions.
According to the police report, it was around 9:30 am when the visitors who are staying in Black Rock were attacked. Police responded and chased the suspect, who was wearing a yellow t-shirt and khaki pants, but he escaped.
Anyone with information about the identity of the culprit is asked to call emergency telephone number 211.

It is sad that so many returning visitors pump up Barbados to try and get more tourism to Barbados to help the economy and then we read things like this. I know it can happen anywhere and things aren’t great for locals these days but what will happen when people stop coming?

The media in the USA, Canada and England report the news and Inform the public of what is going on without stating the nationality of the victims, however; BAJAN ” journalist” are destroying the country financially by stating facts that are not necessary. Julia Barbados is not as expensive as people think. Yes it is for the people living there because there are some items they just can’t live without. As for tourists it can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. As for the people. I have always found the people to be friendly. This year however not as much but I’m sure it doesn’t help when so many are losing their jobs. I think the government needs to do something soon. I will still recommend Barbados and will return but things like this doesn’t help.
Many places in Europe is way way cheaper and you can still get plenty of sun and lovely beaches !

Im concern about crime not just to tourist but all citizens,we just because tourism is big for Barbados look at crime in that regard,something needs to be done about all crime and the criminals who commit such acts.

Barbados is changing and not for the better. I used to feel safer there than in the UK. Not any more – I repatriated 21 months ago, and, sadly, it was the right move.
