Enrique Iglesias is no stranger to Barbados.
As a matter of fact, he has visited the island on countless occasions as part of a team of surfers. But tonight, instead of hitting the waves, he will hit the stage of the Holders House in St James, along with rapper Pitbull for the CHUM FM Breakfast in Barbados show.
This afternoon at a media briefing at the Radisson Aquatica in Aquatic Gap, St Michael, Iglesias described Barbados as a great island and said he was excited to hit the stage.
He said that the audience could tonight expect a mixture of new and older songs, including El Perdedor, Heart Attack, Hero, I like How it Feels and Finally Found You.
“I will sing anything you ask me to,” Iglesias jokingly told the media.
The self–professed football lover’s advice for aspiring singers was to never give up on their dreams and to explore writing their own material. He stressed song writing was crucial.
“It is what motivates me, it is what pushes me, it is what makes happy – it is like therapy. Then going from there to be able to perform those songs on stage you see the reaction of the crowd and the fans. [It] is the best feeling in the world,” the Spanish hunk said.
He said further: “The music industry can be a tough industry and if you are really passionate about what you do and you truly love it, you got to keep on going and as cliché as it may sound, don’t stop, just follow your dreams. And it comes a point where eventually when you work hard, it will come true.”
