Stating it was only a precautionary measure, the Pine Hill Dairy has recalled thousands of cases milk products.
The voluntary recall affects seven batches of 250ml Full Cream Evaporated Milk, one batch of 250ml Partly Skimmed Evaporated Milk and four batches of 200ml Flavoured Milk, including its Vanilla, Chocolate and Tutti Fruiti brands.
The dates of expiration for the affected products range from November 1 this year to February 21 next year.
“Our Quality Assurance Team has detected premature spoilage in portions of the batches,” said the Dairy in a press statement today announcing its decision.
“We are asking consumers who may still have some of this product in their possession, to return it to our Customer Service Department at B&B Distribution in Newton for exchange beginning Monday, July 14th, 2014,” the company said.
The company also apologised for the inconvenience while assuring that the action was in keeping with its policy of maintaining stringent quality standards.
