The Barbados Tridents are now in partnership with Banks Beer.
The relationship will see Banks sold at the Kensington Oval during Tridents’ Caribbean Premier League home matches, and the Banks logo will feature on the caps of Tridents players, with commercials also being shown on the big screen during games.
The Tridents, captained by Kieron Pollard, made the semi-finals in 2013’s Limacol CPL, and the team boasts international stars like Dwayne Smith, Shoaib Malik, Ravi Rampaul and Jason Holder. The team returns to Barbados for three matches starting on July 23 at 4 p.m. against St Lucia Zouks. On July 25, they will take on Antigua Hawksbills, while last year’s runners-up, Guyana Amazon Warriors, are the visitors on July 26 for the Tridents’ final home game.
Jamie Steward, commercial director of the Limacol Caribbean Premier League, said: “It’s great to have a landmark Barbados brand like Banks supporting the Tridents. Now fans can enjoy ice-cold Banks Beer at the Kensington Oval while enjoying all the Tridents action.”
Bernard Frost, group marketing manager, Banks (Barbados) Breweries Limited, said: “The CPL is the biggest party in sport, and there’s no party in Barbados without Banks! We’re delighted with this partnership and wish the Tridents every success in the 2014 tournament.”
The Limacol Caribbean Premier League runs from July 11 to August 16, with 30 matches taking place over 37 days. In addition, the final week of the tournament, in St Kitts and Nevis, will host Beefy’s Bash, an all-star charity match featuring Sir Ian Botham, Brian Lara and Piers Morgan, as well as a concert by hip-hop megastar, Rick Ross.
