The Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) continues to make progress with its efforts to have the Caribbean region’s presence felt internationally and to take the message and talents of its people to the rest of the world.
Canada is the latest stop on CMC’s journey, as CaribVision, the region’s premier cable channel, was launched last week on Bell Fibe TV’s Channel 658. Available in Ontario and Quebec, CaribVision will showcase its unique blend of culturally rich, entertaining, educational and enlightening programming.
“Our mission is to have a permanent presence on the global landscape in all forms of media,” said Lori Weatherhead, CMC’s acting chief operating officer. “In addition to Caribbean people in the diaspora, anyone with an interest in our authentic Caribbean lifestyle can keep pace with developments as CMC continues to widen its international reach.”
CaribVision, officially launched in 2006, is currently aired in over 22 Caribbean territories and in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
