Green House held off stiff competition to capture their tenth title at Hillaby Turners Hall Primary School’s Inter-house Sports held at the National Stadium today.
Competition on the track was so keen that a mere four points separated the first and second placed houses with Blue House copping 503 points to Green House’s 507. Red House took third spot with 471 points and Yellow House finished fourth with 460.
Despite placing fourth overall in the points standing, Yellow House claimed both victor and victrix ludorum titles in the under-13 girls and under-11 boys division respectively.
Decarlo Straker amassed 53 points to take the boy’s title while Halee Collymore tallied 43 for the girls’. Straker won the 100m, 200m, 800m, long jump and came second in the 400m which was won by Omarion Ifill of Blue House. Collymore utilized her long strides to produce wins in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 600m to take the under-13 girls’ honours.
In under-13 boys competition Jaden Howell of Blue House scored 39 points. He won the 100m, placed second in the 400m and third in the 200m. Gabrielle Clarke of Yellow House stood out in the under-11 girls division with 34 points. She won the 200m, 400m, placed second in the 100m behind Tyreisha Griffith of Red House.
Keshaun King of Green House commanded all-comers in the under-nine boys’ division and never looked back. He won the 80m, 100m, 150m, long jump and cricket ball throw to tally a whopping 50 points. The girls’ under-nine division belonged to Zacairee Kellman who won the 80m, 100m and 150m to earn herself 33 vital points for Blue House.
In the under-seven category Ashaun Grecia of Green House tallied 28 points and Tamariah Stuart of Red House earned 23 points among the girls. Grecia won the standing broad jump and came second in the 50m dash while Stuart was victorious in the 50m dash.
