More pool action this weekend

Action on the pool table continued during the week with several exciting match-ups.

Defenders seemed to have easily adjusted to their new home base at Silver Fox in Oistins when they caught a falling “star” with a 3-0 lead over the Mr.Q based team, Stars, with wins from Stephen Cox, Terry “Bubbler” Goddard and doubles pair Whitfield “Jack” Holding and Eustace “Dick” Forde.

However, seasoned players Renny Hitlall and Damien “Blues” Batson failed to capitalize on this solid start and allowed the effervescent Stars to return into space to level the score at 3-3 with valuable wins from Berton Armstrong, Damien Vidal and female sensation Recede Clarke who bounced back from last weekend defeat to beat Claudette Alleyne in two straight sets.

The Stars never looked back and found their “pot o gold” at the end of the rainbow with a comfortable 6-5 win. Saints continued their bad run over at Heavy Sweetz Lounge, defaulting three matches and giving the home team Q-Bandits an easy 9-2 win. The Saints haven’t won a game so far and sit at the bottom of the pool standings.

Meanwhile, over at Mr.Q’s, Technicians were locked in battle with the Police team which resulted in a nail-biting finish at 6-5. Police double “A” pair of Andrew Springer and Alicia Archer bounced back from 0-1 down to win 2-1 over Peter “Chef” Layne and Shawn Denny which included a crafty 7-up. The second match between Crazy 8’s and Kangaroos ended 7-4.
