Ringbang is back!
Last weekend, music legend Eddy Grant celebrated 50 years in the music industry surrounded by, according to him, all his friends.
“If you are here tonight, then you are my friend. And if I don’t know you, and you’re friends with a friend of mine, then you are my friend,” Eddie said with a chuckle.
He also celebrated his birthday, which was on March 5.
Ringbang is the brainchild of Eddy, and on Saturday night he launched the official Ringbang Festival, which he says will be held every Friday and Saturday after his birthday in the month of March.
Eddy said he had decided to bring back ringbang to give the public something more to look forward to.
“This event tonight, and the acts you will see tonight, took me just a couple days to put together. So imagine what it would be like once we have more time to plan it,” he said.
Sir Wes Hall, Earl Maynard, Gabby, TC, Ronnie Clarke, Blood, John King and many more artistes, with whom he would have worked throughout his time in Barbados, attended the event to celebrate with Eddy at Bayley’s Plantation, his St Philip residence.
