Barbados takes nine medals in CARIFTA swimming

After the first 26 events of the XXX Carifta Swimming Championships at the Aquatic Centre, Barbados is in second position with 149.5 points, behind the leaders Bahamas with 209 points.
The host collected nine medals, including five gold, three silver and one bronze on the opening day.
The gold medals came from Ashley Weekes in the Girls 11 to 12 200M Breaststroke who finished in 2:56.76, Nkosi Dunwoody in the Boys 11 to 12 200M Breaststroke (2:40.08), Danielle Titus in the 11 to 12 50M Backstroke
(32.11), and the Boys 13 to 14 (4 x 100M) Freestyle Relay and Girls 15 to 17 (4 x 100M) Freestyle Relay teams.
The boys’ relay team, comprised of Luis-Sebastian Weekes, Jack Kirby, Kobi Talma and Damon St Prix, won in 3:46.52.
The girls’ relay team finished in 4:04.70. The members of that relay team were Sariyah Sherry, Alexis Clarke, Kimberley Willoughby and Hannah Gill.

Hannah Gill (Silver) 9:12.88
Boys 13 to 14 200M Breaststroke
Luis-Sebastian Weekes (Silver) 2:32.49
Girls 11 to 12 100M Butterfly
