People’s Cathedral suffered another defeat yesterday when they went down 3-0 to Charles F. Broome as action in the Bico-sponsored National Sports Council’s Primary Schools Football Tournament continued at Blenheim, St Michael.

Damien Harvey and Jaden Archer scored for the winners as they dominated proceedings from the starting whistle. And to add to their own difficulties, People’s Cathedral conceded an own goal during a mix-up in their goal area.

In a keenly contested encounter at the same venue George Lamming defeated St. Paul’s 3-2 with Tyrell Haynes, Ramario Dates and Shakobe Bentham scoring for the winners while Rhemar Simmons and Kobe Burgess netted for St Paul’s.

Tajio James netted twice for Wilkie Cumberbatch as they defeated Belmont Primary 2-0, also at Blenheim. Akeem Chandler scored a brace to lead St Giles to a 2-1 win over St Ambrose for whom Cummani Cummins scored the lone goal.

At Passage Road, Zhurri Morris scored a brace as Westbury beat Trinity 2-0. Also at Passage Road, Eden Lodge defeated St Mary’s 2-0 with goals from Raghanal Yarde and Ahijah Springer.

At the Barbados Lumber Company ground, Jaden Nurse scored in Wesley Hall’s 2-0 victory over Lawrence T. Gay with the second being an own goal. In a second match at that ground, Deacons Primary defeated Al-Falah 4-0 with Kadane Archer getting a hat-trick and Keshawn Smith also scoring.

At Bagatelle, Stefan Hoyte netted for Welches Primary and Nathaniel Straker responded for Sharon Primary in a 1-1 draw.

In action at Shorey Village, St Andrew, Deandre Wood’s two goals were enough to give St Bernard’s a 2-1 victory over Holy Innocents.

In another match at Shorey Village, Hillaby Turner’s Hall defeated Grantley Prescod 2-0.

In the east, Gordon Walters and St Luke’s Brighton played to a 1-1 draw at Rice’s, St Philip. Shakir Dyer scored for Gordon Walters and Maliq Rawlins was the other match scorer. St Martin’s Mangrove’s Amari Griffith scored twice as his school beat Reynold Weekes 2-1 for whom Azan Bennett netted.

At Chapel, Renikko Lyte-Griffith’s goal gave Hilda Skeene a 1-0 victory over St Mark’s.
