Just four days after being re-elected as president of FIFA, Sepp Blatter has resigned.
The 79-year-old Swiss, who had served as head of the world body since 1998, had been elected to serve his fifth term last Friday.
His resignation comes in the wake of what has been regarded as the biggest sporting scandal in the world, which has led to the arrests and indictment of several top FIFA officials.
