Last weekend, the focus was on the males at the inaugural ManUp Expo help at the Concorde Experience at the Grantley Adams International Airport.
Hundreds of men and women flocked to the Concorde for the Saturday-Sunday affair that featured car shows, health activities, electronics, basketball, dominoes –– and even a “man cave”.
One of the organizers, Barbados Private Sector Association chairman Alex McDonald, told Barbados TODAY the expo had exceeded their expectations, and they were already looking forward to a bigger and better expo next year.
And with Father’s Day just one week away, the females were out in their numbers, taking the opportunity to treat their men to a day out. Some even took the time to make several purchases for their guys from the variety of stalls and services on offer.
“It has been a fantastic two days. We have been getting positive reviews from everybody. We had great events. We had the sound-off, the fittest man competition; we had Caribbean LED doing their thing; we had LIME; we had Massy Stores; and we had lots of people. We saw many more passing through than we expected . . . . We will definitely be back next year,” McDonald said.
Other organizers of the event were media personality Vic Fernandes, attorney-at-law Wilfred Abrahams and businessman Alain Hinds.
