PORT OF SPAIN –– Police believe they have recovered the body of the decapitated head found in a garbage bin at Pall Mall Street, East Dry River, Port of Spain, around 5 a.m. today.
Around 12:30 p.m. officers of the Port of Spain division were called to upper Duncan Street near Supa’s Hardware where residents found a headless body in the trunk of a white BMW, said to be stolen.
The head was found by Port of Spain City Corporation workers. The man’s head they said, rolled out when workers collected this morning’s garbage.
The head of the man is believed to have been there from Monday afternoon as workers collect garbage every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Police are yet to identify the body, but believe that the decapitation is a message to drug dealers to the communities.
The body remains unidentified. An autopsy is expected to be done tomorrow in the Forensic Science Centre.
