Former champions City of Bridgetown hammered Christ Church East 4-0 yesterday, as action continued in the David Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils Football Classic at Dover playing field, Christ Church.
Rohan Hewitt got the demolition job going in the 33rd minute with the only goal of the first-half.
Then a few minutes after the resumption, Renaldo Seale made it 2-0. Former national striker Dwayne Stanford then made it 3-0 in the 80th minute and just before regulation time expired, national player Carl Joseph scored in the 89th minute.
In the second game played Christ Church South and St Joseph were locked 1-1 in an absorbing battle when an unfortunate incident between the referee and a Christ Church South player led to the game being abandoned in the 84th minute.
The tournament continues tomorrow with games at Bayville and Blenheim A.
