A policeman yesterday admitted to three counts of committing serious indecency against two school girls in 2011.
Suspended cop Ricardo Devere Millington, 43, of Breezy Hill, Halton Terrace, St Philip, was on trial before Justice Margaret Reifer in the No. 5 Supreme Court earlier today.
Millington was originally charged with one count of rape and two for serious indecency. He however denied the rape accusation but pleaded guilty to the three serious indecency counts.
The offences occurred between July 2, 2011 and Dec 17, 2011. The victims were 14 and 15 years old at the time.
According to the facts which Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Donna Babb-Agard,Q.C., outlined to the court, one of the girls was giving trouble and her mother, who met Millington online, felt he would have been a good person to help keep the girl in check.
The girl was allowed to stay at Millington’s house and the offences were committed in a bedroom there. During the mentioned dates, one of the girl’s friends also had one of the offences committed against her.
The girl at the centre never told her mother about what was taking place but she mentioned it to her friends. Millington was remanded and returns to court on November 16. He was represented by attorney-at-law Alvan Babb.
