Christ Church West MP Dr Maria Agard will have to answer a number of disciplinary charges.
This follows a meeting tonight of the Barbados Labour Party’s (BLP) National Council, chaired by party leader Mia Mottley at the BLP’s Roebuck Street headquarters.
A brief statement issued after the meeting said that action is in keeping with Rule 81 of the BLP’s constitution.
Dr Agard who has been at the centre of a bitter row with her branch executive that has spilled over into a tussle with Mottley, will be required to attend a hearing and to show why she should not be disciplined.
“A special meeting of the Council will be arranged accordingly to facilitate this hearing,” the statement said.
It added that there would be no further comment from the party on this matter until this it is resolved.
