It’s only a matter of time now before Dr Maria Agard knows her fate.
A confident looking Dr Agard strutted into the Opposition Barbados Labour Party’s Roebuck Street, St Michael headquarters just minutes ago to face the National Council on nine charges.
Flanked by attorneys Hal Gollop, QC, and Lynette Eastmond, the embattled Christ Church West MP made her grand appearance at 4:55 p.m. to loud cheers.
However, not everyone was in support of Dr Agard as a small group paraded with placards.
‘Mia all the way’, ‘Time to go Maria’, and ‘The BLP is bigger than you Maria’, were some of the messages displayed.
In fact, the biggest cheers were reserved for BLP leader Mia Mottley who arrived two minutes later in her grey Land Rover.
She was mobbed upon exiting, as shouts of “the boss is here” echoed through the BLP courtyard.
Other prominent BLP members, including General Secretary Dr Jerome Walcott, St Joseph MP Dale Marshall, Mottley’s assistant Pat Parris and party stalwart Sir Richard Cheltenham, are also present for the meeting.
Earlier, supporters had arrived from as early as 4 p.m. clad in white and red, well before the 5 p.m. start of the meeting.
