“Oh my God, I can’t believe this! Are you serious? I was just speaking to my cousin about my luck changing, and now it really is!”
These were the words of Virginia Foster when she was notified on Tuesday that she was the second lucky winner of a $1,000 shopping spree at Cost U Less, in the BT’s Christmas Shopping Spree competition. The win came at an opportune time for Virginia, who already had an items list in mind.
And so she made immediate use of her good fortune by getting her shopping under way –– with a little help on product information from Cost U Less store manager Joe LaChausse.
Virginia told BT’s Account Executive Omisa Hobbs: “It is truly [an occasion] I will never forget. The moment you called, it sealed my faith on so many levels! You just never know when a smile or a word is going to help someone, and you were part of that for me.”
BT’s Omisa responded: “Virginia, you are most welcome. It was a fantastic feeling to spread such joy and cheer at such a time when it is very much appreciated. And to feel and see your sincerity and hope on this occasion was very endearing.
“I wish you all the best, and a blessed and merry Christmas!”
The third winner, Ramonda Browne, was no less excited on receiving the news yesterday of her good luck. She initially believed the call about winning a $1,000 shopping spree at Cost U Less to be a prank.
But on learning it was indeed no joke, she felt so overwhelmingly happy! Not only because she was going to be shopping for free, but because yesterday December 10 was also her birthday.
With her aunt Abetha Browne, daughters Rakaila Walcott, 4, and Rakaisha Walcott, 2, as well as family friend Cheryl Callender in tow, it was a happy affair. Ramonda, while not quite ready to shop on that day, could not deny Rakaisha a quite cute and colourful stuffed monkey from among the many toys for sale at Cost U Less.
Ramonda said that yesterday was one of the best birthdays she had ever had.
Barbados TODAY and Cost U Less were delighted to make it such.
