A 26-year-old man has admitted to the unlawful killing of another man two years ago.
Ravier Ishmael Straker did so before Justice Jacqueline Cornelius in the No. 5 Supreme Court this morning.
Principal Crown Counsel Lancelot Applewaithe said that John Baptiste was at Lonnie’s Bar in Nelson Street, The City on May 31, 2013 when Straker and others came to the establishment during a karaoke session.
An argument broke out between Straker and Baptiste, which led to Straker pulling a knife and fatally stabbing the victim. Straker ran off and was found some time after in an abandoned house.
Straker, who has four previous convictions, was represented today by attorney-at-law Roy Hurley.
He will continue on remand until next February when the matter comes up again.
