A St Michael woman already on bail on several charges was remanded to HMP Dodds when she appeared in court to answer eight new charges yesterday.
Shakira Natashia Alleyne, 24, of 3rd Avenue Park Road, Bush Hall, St Michael will spend the next 28 days in prison, despite pleading not guilty to all of the charges.
Acting Magistrate Alliston Seale was actually considering granting Alleyne bail, but a check of the court records showed that she was already on bail for two other matters dating back to 2014.
“Bail plus bail equals jail,” Seale told the young lady.
Alleyne, a porter, pleaded not guilty to threatening unlawful violence at Kensington Oval, assaulting Police Constable Diana Parris along with occasioning her actual bodily harm, damaging a pair of spectacles valued at $390 belonging to Harris and damaging one skirt valued at $42 belonging to the Crown.
All of those incidents allegedly took place on December 20, 2015.
Additionally, Alleyne is charged with dishonestly obtaining almost $6 000 in goods and articles by deception in three separate incidents, while falsely representing to be Winfield Yearwood.
She was remanded until February 4, 2016.
