The Barbados National Lottery says it will conduct an investigation into the winning Mega6 ticket.
The National Lottery issued a statement today saying while it was aware of recent media reports regarding the winning ticket, no one had claimed the $2.2 million jackpot.
It added that a full investigation would be conducted once a winner comes forward.
Today’s statement came on the heels of reports that one employee at a gas station where the winning ticket was sold was being questioned. Police Public Relations Officer, Acting Superintendent David Welch, told Barbados TODAY the individual had since been released.
The National Lottery also reminded players to sign the back of each ticket purchased, “as each of our tickets, for all of our exciting games, are bearer instruments”.
“As such, any person purchasing any of our games will be subjected to the policies and procedures as noted in each of our game rules and displayed on the back of the ticket. We will validate and pay the winning funds in accordance with those policies,” the statement said.
The National Lottery said it had no further comment at this time.
