A 28-year-old man on a charge of burglarising a home, was remanded to HMP Dodds after appearing in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court today.
Randell Antonio Marley Jason Brathwaite, of no fixed address, is accused of entering Dale Hardy’s home as a trespasser and stealing several items.
The list included a wallet, a Barbados Identification card, one driver’s license, a handbag, US$250 and BD$241.45 with an overall value of $2,431.45.
After the unemployed man denied the charge, Station Sergeant Irvin Kellman objected to bail, based on Brathwaite’s lack of a permanent address and the fact that he is known to the court for similar offences.
Kellman submitted that the accused was “not a suitable candidate for bail”.
In his application for bail, Brathwaite argued that “it is just an allegation” and provided the court with a Sargeants Village, Christ Church address.
However, Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant denied Brathwaite’s application for bail and remanded him to HMP Dodds until March 3.
