Kadarian McNeal Mayers experienced just one day of freedom, after police arrested and charged him yesterday in connection with theft from a car.
Only on Saturday, Mayers, of #4 Hillside, Gall Hill, St. John, had finished serving a prison sentence that kicked in after he was unable to pay a fine imposed on him by the Oistins’ Court last December.
When he appeared in the District ‘C’ Magistrates Court today before acting Chief Magistrate Christopher Birch, the 30-year-old denied committing the offence of stealing a camera and other items from Joel Leacock’s car between November 13 and 14 last year.
Sergeant Azel Skeete objected to bail on the strength of the facts and the fact that Mayers has other matters which are still outstanding before the court.
The accused man asked, however, that he be granted bail because he had just been released from prison and wanted a chance to get his life together.
He was remanded to HMP Dodds until March 21.
