DOMINICA – Disturbing robbery footage surfaces

ROSEAU –– A disturbing video from security cameras of an employee being kicked as she lay helpless on the floor during a robbery in Mero has surfaced online.

The robbery occurred at the Greenhouse Sports Bar & Grill, located on the Mero Highway, during the wee hours of Sunday, February 21.

The grainy, black and white footage shows, at least, three masked men storming the business place with guns and threatening customers and employees.

The first man entered with what appeared to be a handgun.

He was followed by another who held what appeared to be a bigger gun. That man went straight to the counter. However, an employee was in his way.

The man then proceeded to kick and stamp on the employee as she lay frightened and helpless on the floor. He then grabbed what appeared to be a cash register and other items behind the counter.

The men soon made good their escape.

Previous reports of the matter indicate the owner of the establishment, Jameson Johnson, sustained injury to his left leg, hands, face and right arm while trying to escape from the scene.

The gunmen stole the cash register of the business place and cellphones of employees and patrons.
