Barbadian Ashley Nurse took two wickets for 28 runs and then scored a match-winning 25 not out off nine balls, to seal a three-wicket victory for West Indies against Warwickshire in their second T20 today.
Led by Sam Hain’s knock of 85, Warwickshire posted a competitive 157 for five from their 20 overs. Nurse, along Darren Sammy though helped the Windies to victory, guiding them to 158 for seven in 18.5 overs.
The 27-year-old was named Man-of-the-Match. He added a vital seventh-wicket stand of 55 in four overs with skipper Darren Sammy – who made 34 off 18 balls.
Earlier Johnson Charles made 48 off 26 balls with five fours and four sixes to provide the ideal start on a good pitch at Dubai International Stadium.
Nurse hit the winning runs – a superb straight drive to the boundary – which sealed the West Indies’ fourth victory on this trip to the United Arab Emirates.
The team will travel to Kolkata tomorrow to continue preparation ahead of the start of the ICC World T20 Tournament.
