Young Quissa told Bajan Vibes she was excited to start this new journey, and was anxious for the wider public to hear her song.
“It’s so amazing! I’m excited for all that is to come after this,” she said. And while she is not certain what the future holds, she is sure there will be a future.
“Everything I do, I go with God. He is ordering my steps. This new song is a pop song, but everything I write is Christian-based,” Quissa explained. And, for her, success is inevitable. In fact, the 19-year-old is already starting to see benefits of using her God-given talent.
With the avid support of her parents and grandmother, along with her music teachers at Combermere School and Harrison College, Quissa found it easy over the years to enter NIFCA almost annually.
She has gained several awards, including two Silvers, Incentive Award For Most Promising Performance By An Individual and Most Outstanding Christian Act.
The last led Quissa to be an opening act for Israel & New Breed at Barbados Gospelfest, 2015.
Her other achievements thus far include winner of Honey Jam NuVisual Media Music Video Prize, Spotlight Artiste at Mahalia’s Corner, winner of the Harrison College K Factor (Talent Competition) 2014 and winner of Best Talent at Harrison College Pageant.
In addition to her music, the artiste, of Grenadian and Barbadian descent, is a University of the West Indies law student.
Quissa endeavours to write and sing songs that would be inspiring and are linked to her Christian values.
