Don Alvin Blackman will have to return to court in just over two months to face two charges.
When he appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today, the 43-year-old proprietor from Greenfield, St Michael pleaded not guilty to unlawfully assaulting Corey Knight as well as to possession of cannabis.
Both offences allegedly took place on April 7.
Blackman, who is being represented by Andrew Pilgrim QC, was granted bail in the sum of $3,000.
He will return to court on June 21.
