Jah Rastafari Jones is now behind bars after pleading guilty before the District ‘C’ Magistrates Court to breaking into Glen Jones’ home sometime last week.
Both the complainant and the convicted man live at Long Bay, St Philip.
Sergeant Azel Skeete said the complainant invited Jones to stay at his premises. He was not given access to the house, but was allowed to sleep under a tent, which also holds church services.
Sometime between April 17 and 22, the homeowner missed items from inside his house and reported the matter to police. He also searched a bag, which he saw in the area,
and discovered some of the missing items inside it.
A police search of Jones’ haversack also turned up a pair of scissors belonging to the complainant.
Today, Acting Chief Magistrate Christopher Birch remanded the convicted man to prison. He will return to court on Friday to meet with a probation officer.
