“I don’t need a lawyer because I didn’t do anything wrong,” an accused watchman in a wounding case told the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today.
But after granting the 35-year-old Zatti Omaro White $10,000 bail, Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant ordered him to stay away from the alleged victim in the case.
White, of Taylor’s Gap, Delamere Land, Martindales Road, St Michael is charged that on April 25, 2016, he did serious bodily harm to Rico Clarke with intent to maim disfigure or disable him, or to do some other serious bodily harm to him.
“Stay away from Mr Clarke. Please stay away from Mr Clarke,” the presiding judicial officer told White.
“He is who attacked me,” the accused retorted as he left the dock. When he first entered the dock today and was told it was an indictable matter, White disagreed.
“This is not an indictable case,” declared the accused whose right arm was in a sling and heavily bandaged. “Mr White, sit down,” ordered the magistrate.
After the case was adjourned until July 6, White walked out of the court with his mother Wendy Trotman who had signed bail for him. No conditions were attached to the bail.
