Well-known rhythm poet, actor and theatre practitioner Winston Farrell was the featured Writer Of The Month at the Sidney Martin Library on Wednesday. Farrell gave a captivating performance of some of his recent work and also wooed the audience with many of his well-known pieces, such as Black Knight and Bus Man.
A photographic display is also mounted in the library’s lobby that highlights Farrell’s career, awards received and his published works.
The Writer Of The Month is one of the activities planned by the Sidney Martin Library to the mark the 50th anniversary of Independence and to recognize the contribution of literary writers to the development of Barbadian culture. The series features a different writer each month and ends in December.
