The Junior Monarch semifinalists thoroughly impressed last night during the first staging of their tent held at the Lester Vaughn Secondary School.
Singers in both the 8-12 and 13-18 categories pulled out all the stops giving patrons more than they paid for. The crowd loved it so much they kept calling for encores but were denied in the interest of time.
The juniors however enjoyed every minute onstage as they honed their skills and prepared for what is expected to be a battle royale at the semifinals on July 2nd.
The standard of the material was high and all the youngsters showed their excitement.
It was hard to choose last night’s top performers but most notable were Star Diamond singing Calypso Queen; Sanche, School Days; De MC, Outta Love; Quinn P, De Call; Raheem, My Story and Confetti, Why Yuh In Shock.
