A St Michael man was given two weeks to pay a $750 fine for possession of cannabis.
If Gregston MacAnthony Worrell of Jackmans Development, St Michael does not pay, he will have to spend one month behind bars.
The sentence was handed down by Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant today after Worrell pleaded guilty to having the illegal substance “on his person” on June 18.
According to the facts presented in court, the drugs were found in the front pocket of Worrell’s pants.
He was searched after police, acting on information, executed a search warrant at his residence.
Asked to give an account for the “two greaseproof wrappings,” found in his pants Worrell said: “That was two joints I had to smoke later.”
He was arrested and charged.
The self-employed man, who is not known to the law courts, is to return on July 1, 2016 to show proof of his receipt.
