Eighteen months probation with anger management was the sentence handed down to Jason Jamal Harris of Sion Hill, St James today.
However, if he breaches that order, Harris will have to pay a $1,500 fine forthwith or serve three months behind bars.
The 30-year-old was charged with possession of an offensive weapon, namely a cutlass, without reasonable excuse, at Rubis Service Station on July 4, 2013.
Magistrate Douglas Frederick handed down the ruling today in the No 1 District ‘A’ Court to the unemployed man on the recommendation of the Probation Department.
Harris had previously pleaded guilty to the charge and was released on $6,000 bail.
