World-renowned Thai chef Mayuree Saipetch has brought her culinary skills to the shores of Barbados.
Saipetch is the newest addition to the team at the Accra Beach Hotel and is now working at the establishment’s popular Pacifika Kitchen.
She was introduced to a group of specially invited guests at the restaurant where she prepared several dishes, including her signature fried noodles.
Saipetch said it was an honour to be in Barbados and she was excited to be working at the hotel.
“I have worked in many Caribbean countries but Barbados is very nice. We have many different things on the menu but the noodles are the signature dish and, believe me, they are the best –– fried noodles with basil leaves and chicken or shrimp,” she said.
Executive chef Abunasar Siddiqui told Barbados TODAY the team was looking to revamp the restaurant and thought Saipetch would be the perfect fit.
“She is a master chef of Thai cuisine. Just a few weeks now she was here and she has already changed the menu. So we have a new menu as well and we are very excited about it. So far the response has been great,” Siddiqui said.
