Murder accused Shamar Omar Ishmael was Tuesday remanded to HMP Dodds after making his first appearance in the District ‘A’ No.2 Magistrates’ Court.
The 25-year-old, of 1st Avenue Jackson, St Michael, is charged with the October 7 killing of 34-year-old Kevin Brewster, who was shot in the back of the head in the Trench Town area of Coleman Road in his Jackson, St Michael district.
Brewster was treated by emergency medical technicians on the scene before he was rushed by ambulance to the state-run Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Today, Ishmael was not required to plead to the indictable offence, which was read by Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant.
The accused man, who is represented by attorney-at-law Brian Clarke, is scheduled to re-appear in court on November 8.
