Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley has extended condolences to the family and friends of Barbadian vocalist Clarence Thompson, who died at the weekend. He was 71.
In a statement released today, Lashley said the entertainer will long be remembered as “one of the most outstanding vocalists that Barbados has ever produced”.
Stating that Thompson’s passing will leave a “void”, Lashley expressed the hope that young Barbadian musicians would emulate the late performer’s drive and determination.
The singer was well known for performing with Barbadian spouge legend, Jackie Opel.
